    The Unmanned Vehicle Technology Association ... a step towards the localization of a Saudi industry for "drones aircrafts"​

    Asharqia Chamber represented by the Communications and Technology Committee, on Tuesday 30 March 2021, organized a meeting entitled "The Role of the Third Sector in Supporting and Enhancing the Drone Industry", where it reviewed the details of the National Project for Unmanned Aircraft Services (Drone)

    During the virtual meeting, the CEO of the Society for Motor Vehicle Technologies, Eng. Makarem Al-Jahdali, who gave a presentation on the Society’s goals, vision and objectives, and the investment aspect of its projects, spoke about the fact that automotive technologies represent a great revolution in the field of transportation technologies and services in the last ten years in particular, and they vary In terms of use, it divided into three main sections (air, land, and marine), and unmanned aircraft (drones) represent the fastest development and reliability of these technologies at present, and it is expected that they will witness a prosperous future and a variety of basic applications.

    Al-Jahdali said that the technologies of remotely piloted vehicles play a major role in the development process that the Kingdom seeks in various technical, economic, service, and security aspects, which calls for a partnership with the scientific and economic community, professors, scientists, and specialists to find solutions to all challenges and obstacles that stand in the way of these technologies.​

    During the meeting, moderated by Abdulaziz Al-Enezi, a member of the Communications and Technology Committee, Al-Jahdali reviewed the objectives of the association represented in "bringing together the public and private sectors and local and international organizations under one platform and striving to develop vehicle technologies that help expand scientific studies and discover new horizons for similar fields that contribute to the development of Current technologies and building community partnerships in all fields to enhance and support the technical field. "

    On the fields of the association’s work, she touched on drones, boats and submarines, self-driving cars, robots, and the associated control software and communication systems, including fifth-generation networks and electronic support systems for the drone industry, in addition to conducting studies, research and consultations in specialized fields.

    She pointed out that the association is subject to direct supervision by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, in addition to the Ministries of Human Resources and Social Development, and Transport, and the military, security, educational, service, and general private-sector agencies benefit from their services.
    She mentioned that the association has several programs for partnerships, including the partnership program with the government sector, which includes providing partnerships, providing consultations, and obtaining support from multiple parties in the service of the association and its goals, the partnership program with the private sector to sustain the association’s work and its development, and the partnership program with international organizations to benefit from its expertise to support the goals of association.​
